Zab is a printmaker currently working as a print tech at Outlet PDX. Their process involves shifting work across media; scanning their watercolors, found materials and plant matter and manipulating their colorways in a collage-like process, resulting in soft spoken Risograph prints they call translations.

Recipes for Sustainability

Risograph – lime, sunflower, red
edition of 50 | 2022

A collection of sourced and written recipes of sustainability, ranging from natural dyes to biomaterials, compiled into a risograph printed zine that uses soy-based ink. The zine uses open sourced and custom type made from found shapes and scans of the various ingredients directly from the risograph scanning bed in an effort to limit file storage.

As a process oriented project exploring the rabbit hole of making sustainable printed matter, the summary of the extended process can be found on the final spread.

The open source, digital copy of the complete zine can be found here.
